Start with free temperature and battery checks, target-temperature controls, presets, and tea timers. Premium adds background visibility, smartwatch support, Ready to Drink alerts, and LED pulsing. Android’s system wake-up reconnect also requires Premium or trial and a supported phone.

Ready to Drink
Know when the first sip is ready.
Set an earlier alert from 1–20°F above your target. Mug Monitor waits until the drink remains in that cooling range for one minute, helping avoid a premature alert while you are still filling the mug.
Available with Premium or during the free trial on iOS and Android. The upper range is capped at 145°F.

Your connection
The phone connects to the mug over Bluetooth. Watch displays receive information through the phone; they do not connect directly to the mug.
You may still need Ember’s app for firmware updates or initial authorization on some mugs. How the two apps fit together.

Reconnecting and background monitoring are different. The free app can connect and retry a connection during normal use. Persistent background status and Android’s system wake-up feature are Premium features. Phone settings, range, and mug firmware affect recovery; no app can guarantee an uninterrupted Bluetooth connection.

No. Mug Monitor is developed by Cybaz Solutions. It is an independent third-party app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Ember Technologies.
Can I keep the official app?
Yes. Keep it available for firmware updates or initial authorization if your mug needs it. Close the app you are not using if the two compete for the connection. See the switching steps.
Do I have to pay to check whether my mug connects?
No. Install the free app and check temperature, battery, and core controls first. Premium features are available during the 7-day trial; the core app remains free afterward.
Can an app fix a mug that will not charge?
Mug Monitor cannot repair the battery, coaster, or mug hardware. For charging, repairs, or warranty help, use Ember’s official support.
